The Next Big Thing...
My prediction is that Cake Pops will become the next big thing in baked goods. It is starting to gain some popularity. Leveraging the cuteness from cupcakes, cake pops are uber-cute. They are basically a mix of cake and frosting, shaped into lollipop-size balls, put on a lollipop stick, and then decorated with all kinds of frostings or toppings. Too bad I don’t have my niece and nephew...
The Cupcake Phenom
I feel like the world is obsessed with cupcakes nowadays. They are becoming the next Starbucks. In Richmond’s Carytown alone, there are 3 cupcake boutiques (and only one Starbucks). Granted, they are cute. There are now mini cupcakes… You guessed it - half or a third the size of normal cupcakes. Super cute.
Cupcake-obsessed fans can also now enjoy “Savory Cupcakes”....
